Privacy Policy
Cardinal doesn’t collect your data. What you save lives on your iPhone or iPad and in your private iCloud, and no one else can see it, not even us.
Last updated: October 28, 2026
What you save in Cardinal
The trips, flights, hotels, bookings, expenses, documents (such as boarding passes or confirmations), and profile details you enter in the app are stored:
- On your device.
- In your private iCloud, so they reach your other devices signed in with the same Apple Account. Cardinal uses the private CloudKit database, which only you can access. If iCloud is turned off for Cardinal, your data stays on the device only.
Cardinal has no servers of its own and no user accounts: there’s no sign-up, email, or password.
What we don’t do
- We don’t collect personal or usage data.
- We don’t use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking tools.
- We don’t sell or share information with anyone.
Importing bookings with Apple Intelligence
When you import a confirmation (a PDF, a screenshot, or text), Cardinal reads it with Apple Intelligence and iOS text recognition, on your device. The content is never sent to any server. If your device doesn’t have Apple Intelligence, you can add your trips by hand.
Permissions the app may ask for
- Calendar: only if you choose to add a trip to your calendar. Cardinal writes the trip’s events to a calendar named “Cardinal” and doesn’t read your other events.
- Notifications: to remind you about your flights and trips. Notifications are scheduled on the device; they don’t go through any server of ours.
- Photos and files: the app only receives the photo, screenshot, or file you choose to import or attach.
Third-party services
- Apple iCloud stores and syncs your data under Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- Google Maps: if you tap “Directions” on a hotel, Google Maps opens with that hotel’s address. From there, Google’s Privacy Policy applies. Cardinal doesn’t send it anything else.
How to delete your data
- Delete a trip in the app and it’s also deleted from your iCloud and your other devices.
- To delete everything Cardinal has in iCloud: on your iPhone, open Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Cardinal and choose to delete the data.
- Uninstalling the app deletes the copy on that device.
Children
Cardinal isn’t directed at children under 13 and doesn’t collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If anything changes, we’ll update this page and the date above. If a change affected how your data is handled, we’d also say so in the app.
